Scottish Beacon

Wayne Coley Art 01 Aug 2024

Lighthouses are a favorite subject of mine and I have painted a total of 24 over the years. I have been working on my skies to convey a warm, inviting feeling to the painting. Using Burnt Sienna, Indian Yellow, Orange and Paynes Gray gives me just the look I want. Titanium white touches on the clouds draws the eye into the background.
Complimenting the Yellows and Siennas, I rendered the ocean in Phtalo and Prussian Blue with Orange highlights.
The road consists of Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Van Dyke Brown and tinted white highlights.
This commissioned painting measures 48" x 36" on Gallery Wrapped Canvas.
